Our environment is experienced through all the senses – the City is not a balance sheet but a living, breathing, constantly changing thing.

However, there are few, if any, opportunities for people, either professionals or the general public, to really see what is proposed, how this will affect the context of an existing place, and where the opportunities lie for future development.

City Vision Southampton is the first permanent exhibition space dedicated to the architecture and evolving future vision of the City. Located in the City Art Gallery this exciting new design resource and visitor destination is a place where people can go to discover how the City is to change over the next two decades.  It is also a place where architects and developers can showcase the major projects that are set to change the face of Southampton.

Based around a large scale model, City Vision Southampton will incorporate all major developments that are proposed for the City and be updated regularly to keep pace with change. A programme of temporary exhibitions each with a particular theme will accompany the permanent exhibition and be complemented with an ongoing series of events, seminars and lectures aimed at both the business and planning community as well as the general public.
