In March 2007, The Kennet School from Thatcham near Newbury travelled to The Roche Court Sculpture Gallery in East Winterslow near Salisbury. The 35 Year-9 students and sixth-formers explored the grounds and the contemporary new gallery which houses the ever changing sculpture collections.
The gallery, designed by architects Munkenbeck and Marshall was completed in 1998. It provides an effective and simple example of how architects can use clever design to create illusions in structure and materials.
The students visited the gallery to accompany a structures module in their design and technology curriculum. The tours were lead by Lucy Salisbury from the Roche Court Education Trust and our very own Rosie Danby.
