As part of the How Places Work scheme, 70 Year-9 pupils from Portsmouth Grammar School enjoyed a visit to the Pallant House Gallery in the heart of historic Chichester. The students were given a tour of the gallery and its celebrated contemporary extension by the architect Sir Colin St John Wilson and the Gallery Director Stefan van Raay.

The tour was particularly special due to the fact that Sir Colin was able to provide not only an insight into the design of the building but also the works it accommodates as many are from his astounding private collection.

The students used the visit to explore juxtaposing relationships between old and new and produced some fantastic work back in the classroom.
