How Places Work is a scheme supported by CABE to encourage young people from across the country to discover and explore exemplar contemporary architecture through a series of visits and tours to venues in their regions.
The scheme is aimed at Key Stage 3 level students and can support many different curriculum areas. The students are given the opportunity to discover the building for themselves and through the eyes of an inspiring character in a guided tour lead by someone who has passion for the building or space.
In the first phase of visits we took three schools to three exciting new buildings around the south. Follow the links below to find out more about each trip.
• Visit to Pallant House Gallery
• Visit to Roche Court Sculpture Gallery
• Visit to Bedales School
The second phase of visits have begun. Click on the links below to find out more.
• Visit to The Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Visitor's Centre
• Visit to the Savill Building at Windsor Great Park
There are still more visits to take place. If you would like to be involved please contact Rosie on 023 8028 3053
