CHAIR
The Solent Centre for Architecture + Design works to achieve design of the highest quality in the designed environment in the Solent area, with an emphasis on sustainability, both social and environmental.
It nurtures innovation; develops and delivers leading-edge projects with external partners, other Architecture Centres and government agencies; creates resources and events to promote excellence.
We are in an exciting period of development and consolidation and are seeking an exceptional individual to work with our Board and Chief Executive. In a time of scarcer public funding SCA+D has moved quickly to develop new streams of earned income (whilst still in line with its core mission). This as an opportunity to continue developing a vibrant and sustainable organisation.
Our new Chair will be:
- Respected in their field with authority to communicate with government, partners and funders;
- A champion of creativity and collaboration who can empower our organisation and our sector to succeed;
- An advocate for Diversity and Equality of Opportunity, and the role of an inclusive cultural framework in creating effective business practice;
- Interested in engaging people in architecture and their built environment.
There is no remuneration for the post but reasonable expenses will be paid. The commitment will be approximately 1 day a month for an initial three years.
